How to decorate your guest room

“If it were not for guests all houses would be graves” .Khalil Gibran
That shows the importance of guests. These are the guests; which makes a home like heaven on earth. Now, the question is how to decorate your guestroom? Well whether your room is small or large there are a lot of ideas and things which helps you a lot in making your guestroom a comfortable, inviting and private room.
Things to remember
Before the visit of your guests
Make a list of things to do.
Important points:
Which amenity attracts you in a hotel or motel’s bedrooms? Try to manage these things, according to your budget.
Arrange each and everything according to the needs of your guests.
Clean the room, cupboards and drawers properly. Spread scented sheets in the drawers.
Don’t forget to put a tissue box, hanging towel, soap, shampoo, hand cream and above all an alarm clock. Make sure all things are placed in the room; because mostly guests feels hesitate about asking for something.
Arrange fresh flowers in the window to make a welcoming and fresh environment.
Some mint leaves in a bowl can also work.
If there is winter season, to give a cozy effect put a pair of slippers with a warm blanket.
Use light and fresh colors bed sheets in summer season, but choose dark colors for winter.
Easy chair is also an important part of the bedroom. But if your room is not large than arrange floor cushions.
T.V also plays an important part to entertain your guests. But if that is out of your budget than arrange some books in your guest room. That also gives him pleasure.
Don’t forget to put a side lamp.
Bathroom slippers and air fragrance are also important things. Don’t forget to put them in the bathroom.
Give privacy to your guest and for this don’t put your belongings in his room.
In the end, I want to say, guests are blessing of God. To make your God happy entertain your guests in a good way and your guests feel; it is a home, away from home.

Aww so lovely, I just might top by your place Asma. :P
Hi asma - very nice tips and ideas. I love the idea of a mint plant. Those slippers are too cute. Whenever we had guests as a child I remember my mom creating a toiletry basket. It included all the things they might need or have forgotten. She would also include a small gift to welcome them with. I try to do the same for mine. Hospitality is a great complement to guests and you have offered encouragement for us to do this. You are right - guests are a blessing. Thank you for sharing
Great hub :)

It's a good suggestion to think about what you would want in your own hotel room when setting up the guest room in your house. I always leave a drinking glass in the guest room, too, along with the other items you mentioned (lotion, tissues, alarm clock, etc.)
